Gardall 1612/2 - U.L. 2 Hour Fire / Burglary Safe
The smallest version of Gardall's iconic U.L. 2 Hour Fire / Burglary Safes, this compact Gardall 1612/2 vault is nearly 300 lbs. and boasts the best fire rating in the industry. Hand built by the skilled craftspeople at Gardall Safe Corporation in Syracuse, NY, using techniques perfected since their opening in 1950, the Gardall 1612/2 is an heirloom engineered to last for generations.
Gardall 1612/2 safes are tested to the highest residential safe fire rating. They come certified with a U.L. 2 Hour Fire/Impact rating, confirming that these safes will survive heating to 1850°F for two hours, as well as 30 foot drop simulating a structure collapse. Read more about the test here.
Massive 4.5 inch thick door and 2.5 inch thick walls.
Double layers of steel are filled with a proprietary poured insulation fine-tuned over decades with incredibly robust and consistent structure.
Equipped with 2 re-lockers and reinforced with Galvanneal, these models have 3-way boltwork, including 5 oversized active bolts, 1” in diameter.
Unique burglary deterrent technologies include specially engineered spinning bolts to ward off power tool attack and embedded drill-deflecting shields.
Custom hinges formed from a single piece of 1/4” thick cold rolled steel.
Door boltwork protected by strategically placed heat-treated hardplate armor.
Custom forged door handles have a shear point designed to fail and spin if the handle is forced.
Engineered door moulding profile prevents heat infiltration and thwarts prying attacks.

Gardall 1612/2 safes ship strapped to a pallet. There are 2 delivery options:
1. Standard delivery - outside placement, free, no rush
Safes on pallets are delivered by truck with a liftgate. An appointment is required, and can be scheduled via email or text. The driver will deliver the safe on the pallet to the door of your home or business or inside a garage, but will not move the safe through a doorway.
2. Inside delivery - inside placement, $400 per safe, fast delivery
Have your safe delivered inside and packaging removed. An appointment is required, and can be scheduled via a link sent by email or text. You will receive a call the day of the delivery to confirm.
